Greetings, My name is Patrina Lassiter, and I am the Lead Minister. I grew up on the beautiful island of Trinidad and Tobago. I moved to the United States when I was 16, and by the age of 19, I had joined the military, where I served honorably for 20 years before retiring. My innate desire to help others led me to a profound calling after leaving the military, which directed me to ministry.

In 2020, I experienced a dream in which I found myself at an apartment building, witnessing fishes emerging towards me. Strangely, bears were devouring the fishes as they surfaced. It seemed as though the fishes were fleeing from something or someone, or perhaps they were displaced from their natural habitat. These fishes were nameless and faceless, representing a people in search of refuge and hope that can only be found in a God who is the hope of glory. This parable was used by the Lord to emphasize the point that I am a fisher of men, and it is my calling to serve the forgotten, the lost, and the broken-hearted.

 

Answering God's call, I launched Leftovers in 2021, which is a manifestation of the Lord's compassionate love for individuals who have been forgotten by society. Inspired to have a greater impact on people's lives, I sought a second master's degree in social work. I aspire to utilize both my education and the discipline acquired as a Veteran to create opportunities for others. In this journey led by the Lord (Psalm 143:8, 10), I follow His direction, purpose and will.
